As part of the Workshop29 series, artist and composer Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs is leading a free collaborative choir that will help get out the vote.

Workshop29 is funded in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency, via the Inland SoCal Creative Corps, a component fund at The Inland Empire Community Foundation, and is sponsored by 29 Palms Public Arts Advisory Committee (PAAC).

All voices are welcome: there is no audition and no performance or singing experience is required.

Participants will learn vocal technique, original music, and collective improvisation.

The drop-in[1] workshops take place Sunday January 28 and February 4, and culminate in a performance at the 29 Palms Farmers Market on February 17th in partnership with VOTE Morongo Basin, who will have a booth where listeners can register to vote.

This is for folks of all experience and comfort levels. Together we’ll create a spine-tingling experience of collective sound.

Riggs will be assisted by Workshop29's creative leadership mentees Carly Foulkes—an artist, photographer and musician— and multimedia artist Brianna Dandurand.

Freedom Plaza is ADA Accessible and accessible via public transportation. For participants who may benefit from additional assistance, please indicate this when registering.

[1]A drop-in workshop means you may attend one or both, as desired. Participation in the performance is optional.
